Caregiver Standard

How We Screen and Prepare Every Caregiver

Access to a large caregiver network only matters if the caregivers in it have been genuinely vetted. Here is what that means in practice.

Background & Reference Screening

Every caregiver clears a comprehensive criminal background check, motor vehicle review, identity verification, and direct reference checks — not just collected on paper — before any in-person interview.

Behavioral Interview

A structured interview probes judgment under pressure and how a caregiver responds to real situations — a client refusing care, a sudden change in condition. We hire for character first; skills are trainable, temperament is not.

RN-Verified Skills

Core hands-on skills — safe transfers, mobility assists, bathing protocols, and emergency response — are verified in real time by a Registered Nurse before any caregiver is matched with a client. A skill is not credited until it has been observed and confirmed.

24/7 Support After Every Shift

Caregivers are never on their own. Every caregiver has access to a live support line 24 hours a day — including a Registered Nurse and a Certified Dementia Care Practitioner when clinical guidance is needed in the moment.

In most new cases, a Care Pro Lead — one of the highest-performing caregivers on our roster — starts the relationship and performs a structured Warm Handoff in person to the ongoing caregiver, so the regular caregiver is never a stranger walking through the door.

Care Oversight

The Professional Team Behind Our Care

Behind every care plan we build is a quiet team — an MHA-credentialed operations leader, a Certified Dementia Care Practitioner, and an RN — who guide our local team on care-plan structure, dementia approach, and clinical questions. The hands-on care is always delivered by our local Southeast Michigan caregivers.

Operations Oversight

MHA-Credentialed Lead

A Master of Health Administration reviews how we structure care plans, staffing ratios, and continuity of care.

Dementia Specialty

Certified Dementia Care Practitioner

A CDCP-certified specialist guides our approach to memory loss, sundowning, and resistance behaviors so our caregivers walk in prepared.

Clinical Review

Registered Nurse (RN)

An RN reviews care plans for hospital-discharge and complex-condition clients, flagging anything that needs a second look.

Most independent agencies don't have this kind of oversight on staff. We do — and it's one of the quietest reasons families stay with us for years.
